Any modified yetis?

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I’ve tried searching but couldn’t find any results (only from 2012!).

Please post any mods that you have done (big or small!). Appreciate there may not be any on coilovers, air etc but maybe new wheels etc?

Thanks

James

And there’s a few more in the Yeti projects section.

I bought my 2016 SE L Drive 150 TDI manual just over a year ago.  So far, it's only had an Angel Tuning remap to c. 185 bhp, a set of new EBC brakes and Greenstuff pads all round with an upgrade to 312 mm Spotty disc on the front.  XDS enabled via VCDS. Heiko wind deflectors on the 4 windows, blinds on the rear side windows and rear screen.

I've also had a tow bar with coded electrics fitted.  I removed the lid from the cubby on top of the dash and fitted a ball and socket mount for my Garmin nüviCam in there.

I've had some discussion with Darkside Developments about a turbo upgrade to 220 bhp and bigger injectors would take that to 250.  I think at that point, I'd want to fit their 4 pot Porsche brake kit which fits with the 312 mm discs.

Applications need to be made in triplicate to the Forum Wheels Committee

Try looking at the boss fox yeti,2.5 tsi project, plenty of video and project build.

I don't own my 170 any more, but I had it remapped, and fitted Bilstein B6 dampers, EBC Yellow pads all round, and a mildly uprated (1 or 2mm thicker) rear ARB from a Q3.

Functional mods rather than for appearance (I wanted it to look completely standard, even to the extent I sprayed the bright yellow pad backs with black heatproof paint to look standard....).

It was pretty quick and a real hoot to drive on twisty roads, and really surprised many other drivers, I would go so far as to say it was the most fun car I've had overall; even though my current car (A6 Allroad BiTdi) is far more powerful and a very nice place to sit - I'd say on balance I enjoyed the Yeti more.
