KOPACEK ISSUES

Featured Replies

Hi so yesterday I decide to buy so bits for my karoq from kopacek while they are on offer. I add them to the basket but for some reason it wont let me checkout I keep trying adding different things to the the basket but the main one which I want is the chrome trim which runs along the length of both doors. So I them email kopacek and they give me this reply this morning.

Hello,

to UK we deliver only by Royal post - the packet must be up to 2kgs and max 50cm long.

Only to Northern Ireland we deliver "without" limits.

Regards

Magdalena

Am I reading this right, has this anything to do with us not being in the E.U anymore. Comon really 50cm is a bloody joke.I wonder how much business they will lose because of this or am I reading it incorrectly

According to:

1) Kopacek (new name for Superskoda) will only ship to the UK using post not couriers, so there is a size and weight limit.

2) post-Brexit HMRC apply the value test whether to seek customs duty and VAT.

So small low value items it's the same as before, small high value items you will have to pay duty & VAT, large items Kopacek won't ship to the UK.

So yeah, you can thank your fellow countrymen voting yes for Brexit ^^

Up to £135.00 value before any import duties come into play.

The problem here is SuperSkoda not being bothered about any UK business.

Well, UK business over a certain size package.  I don't blame them.  Yes, another consequence of Brexit, like the Customs forms one has to complete when sending a package to Europe, which includes returning items bought from Europe in the first place.

So many small businesses both sides of the Channel are suffering because of it.  I was listening to a cheese maker here who used to sell most of his product - high quality, high value specialty cheese - to France by individual mail order but now every single order should have some food safety certification which costs an arm and a leg. His business has been killed.

@FlyingGeckoJust a small point.  & OT.

The British Isles are still in Europe, the customs declaration is not required if sending from England to Wales or Scotland.  Northern Ireland might be different.

Then the EU we are getting familiar with.

Well, yes, but I thought it was fairly obvious considering the original post that it was the UK/EU relationship being referred to, not the geographical relationship between the British Isles and what is generally referred to as "mainland Europe".

And yes, I'm also aware of the problems caused to Northern Ireland by Brexit.

Yes, this is indeed one of the results of Bozo's "easiest deal ever", aka WrecksIt.
