Home charger

Featured Replies

Good Morning

I'm new to this site. Have ordered an Enyaq Iv60 and wondered what home charger you'd recommend

Many thanks for any suggestions

Welcome to the forum.

Did the Dealership employees give any advice or recommendations?

Hopefully those here with experience of home chargers in England or even Bristol will be along with advice on chargers, tariffs & energy providers.

I do not have one at home and just use public chargers.

I have no idea about grants in England and Charger Installation, but i know that for some areas in Scotland there is what looks like a cartel or cabal where the prices of installation is being manipulated among those doing the installations.

VAG group are pushing PodPoint until the Connect / iV charger becomes available in the UK. The latest PodPoint model seems pretty well featured and reliable. If you have or plan to have solar panels or a wind turbine you should consider the Zappi charger as that integrates into a home generation system. I myself have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus which I'm very happy with - its small, neat and well featured. Several chargers can communicate with your electricity supplier to provide cost information - Ohme is one of these.

Try to work out what features you would like and then draw up a short list. Get quotes for installation from both national suppliers and local electricians. Be clear about what they are quoting for as a cheap price might not have taken the amount of cable required into consideration or where your consumer unit is for instance.

Something you need to do asap is find out if your supply is suitable for a home charger. If your supply needs upgrading get your request in to the DNO fast, they are struggling to keep up with demand in some places.

Hi,

I have one from OpenEVSE  has great integration with Solar and TOU tariffs
