Looking at buying a new Fabia color model with 16 inch wheels 

 

Was wondering about buying a spare wheel / space saver 

 

Can find a Skoda kit including a 15 inch tyre , but can't see anything with a 16 inch ?

 

Does anyone know if Skoda sell a 16 inch spare tyre or space saver ?

 

Does anyone know what the Fabia comes with a standard ( e.g. puncture repair kit etc )

'Skoda spare wheels for Fabia are 15".  Steel 'saving space wheels' and tyres.  Not 'Space Savers.'

 

you could buy a 16" Steel or Alloy with the appropriate tyre to carry as a spare wheel. 

Purchase the foam and jack kit from a VAG parts departments for perhaps a little over £40.

 

The OEM part number for the foam and jack kit is 6VA093860

 

Once you have the kit, see if one of your 195/55R16 wheels will fit in the spare wheel well with the foam and jack kit.

 

If so, then order a spare wheel the same size. If you order the tyre and rim separately, you can choose which tyre you want.

 

Using a non-directional tyre will allow it to be fitted correctly in any position on the car.

I've just taken delivery of Fabia Mk4 colour edition. They all come with a silly tyre "repair" kit which is about as much use as a chocolate teapot !  It only works with small to medium punctures and won't work if the puncture is near the edge of the tyre. And to make matters worse, you have to replace the sealant stuff every 3 to 4 years as it deteriorates. That'll cost you £50 plus at least. 

I purchased a space saver tyre compatible with my 16" wheels from The Wheel Shop. - the wheelshop.co.uk   As well as the tyre you get a jack, wheel nut wrench, and toolkit bag. All excellent quality and nearly half the price quoted by my local Skoda dealer.

Yep, That's the one.  It doesn't come with any foam kit to store the wheel - I've just placed it in the circular space below the boot floor after removing the polystyrene foam packaging that had the tyre "repair" kit in it.  It fits in neatly and there is room for your car jack as well. 

 

Hope you enjoy your new car - I've had mine 3 days and am pleased with it.  Setting up the "Virtual Cockpit"  to the way you like it is a bit of a challenge!  The handbook doesn't explain it at all. Best to Google "Fabia  Virtual Cockpit"  and check out some of the videos that have been made about it - some are better than others,

Managed to get dealer to do spare wheel kit from dealer for £160 with foam kit so went with that

2 weeks to go fingers crossed

Did you manage to confirm the tyre size for the space on a Fabia Mk4 please? The dealer supplied items infer it is a 185/60R15 yet the Fabia Comfort seems to come with 4 standard wheels of 185/65R15. Hopefully a 185/65R15 will still fit the space wheel well as it is only a few mm larger

My Monte Carlo, delivered a few weeks ago, came with 185/65R15 spare wheel. I opted for spare wheel and variable boot floor.

That size tyre has almost exactly same size diameter as the 215/45R17 tyres fitted to the car, well 0.4% of a difference, so no real difference at all.
