Pipercross 1621

Featured Replies

Good evening.

My car came with a Pipercross 1621 when I bought it. I have taken it out and washed it, as instructed.

My question is, do I need to oil it? Their website is very vague and not much info on this model. I would rather not oil it. I have read some are dry foam and some need oiling.

I will put in the standard paper one I have from Bosch rather than risk the MAF getting oiled!

Any advice welcome.

Where did you get the instructions from that you followed?

I would put in a standard one and see if the car runs better and more economically.

I looked on YouTube.

I have put the Bosch paper filter  in this morning. I don't think it will affect the performance of my 197bhp TSI!

Quick update.

I called Pipercross and they informed me that my 1621 is indeed a dry filter.

The Vag ones do not need oiling due to the historic maf issues.

I will put it back in and see if it makes a blind bit of difference to the Bosch paper one!
