Hello guys and Girls, I'm Nick, From Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

Ive got a 2018 Skoda Octavia 2.0 Tdi VRs Estate and have owned this since april this year. Unfortunately it was written off back in July this year and was declared a Category S. Now the insurance company offered me the car back for pennies, I couldnt refuse it

Now i have just picked it up from the body shop and it is all repaired (bump was OSR quarter and both drivers doors)

The car runs smooth, But wont go above 20mph. The speed limited is not on as that was the first thing i checked.

It warms up fine, revs fine, but just wont go past 20mph

Ive plugged my autel reader in, and that didnt bring anything up.

Can anyone shed any light on this fault.

Thanks, Nick.

Good afternoon Nick, welcome to the forum.

To assist others to start diagnosing your fault, can you confirm that the vehicle will not exceed 20mph in any gear?

Is this DSG or manual gearbox?

What does the engine rev to in neutral gear?

Do you know if crash sensor was reset, or was it not activated?

Were any airbags deployed? I assume not as you don't mention them.

Hello Warrior193

Yes it does not exceed 20 mph in any gear, its a 6 speed manual gearbox, it revs to 3000 ish rpm in neutral with no hesitation, i dont believe the crash sensor was activated, as the vehicle was parked up when the accident happened. No airbags were deployed as again the vehicle was parked up when the accident happened

Pic attached of damage sustained

Thanks for your response

Would I be correct in thinking that engine will not rev beyond around 2000rpm while in gear? I don't know what revs are limited to in limp mode, but odd that there is no fault indicated. I think you will need to get a full DTC scan to see what is happening. @ApertureS - any ideas?

yes its something around 2k rpm whilst in gear, in 2nd wont go above 1500/1600 rpm.

any help is massively appreciated

Thanks, Nick

The only thing I have seen on this forum that produced rev restriction without a fault indication was a faulty fuel pump.
