  • What else do people have problems with finding the same old answers for?

  • Even on a PD160, the requirement for the larger intake is marginal and is really only needed in extreme climatic conditions. I did the reverse. I put a PD130 intake on Ibiza Cupra PD160 and the owner

  • This is the best answer I've heard about these bloody air intakes. Nothing to do with power, different size pipes for different climatic countries. Seat (Spain), skoda (checz).

Will this fit the standard 1.9 Tdi PD100 engine?

Not sure if I have the wrong idea of what this part does but now the prices are around £80 would you not be better with a k and n induction kit which are available at £92? As I say i've not done any mods on my vrs or fr tdi but thinking of it in the next week or 2. Apologies if i've got the two parts mixed up for the job they do.

I doubt you'd find a cupra in a scrappy, you'd be pretty lucky if you did. I have only seen a few on the road in the few years I've been driving :D

think sumones said that...

don't think someone scrolled down enough to notice someone already said that..

Are these effective if you dont have any other engine mods done? or a waste of money?

Really only for when mapped

should be getting my pd 160 in the next few days !!

Hi, to save me a phone call, could I ask you what price you paid for this, ta!

Just got mine from TPS Shrewsbury £81.31 inc VAT for the pipe and trumpet. Fitting was very simple

Also Leon Cupra R splitter was pretty cheap, just £23.07 inc VAT

FItted mine a couple of days ago to a standard engine, I think it seems a little happier revving. Also sounds a little more vocal.

Am getting a Unit 1 remap next week hopefully.

Ordered today..

Will let you know what I think - car is standard other than a K&N panel filter.

Remap in 2011!

Ok, so it's on.. Did the de-flap mod at the same time too.

Seems to be a bit more 'whooshy' all the way up the rev range, and a bit throatier sound, especially at around ~1750rpm.

I like

A long shot but any one know where you can buy this (in 2011) for a reasonable price, after all its a bit of plastic that realistically adds 1 broken hamster power to my car, and will provide a lovely placebo effect?

I'm only really after it in an attempt to reduce smoke when booting it (I know, its a diesel)

Well, that's all it does realistically - but for that alone it's arguably worth the money...

but its getting on for £90, Thats 2 tanks of fuel (well about 2 litres these days).

Check out the car parts for sale thread, if you have no joy ask in the wanted section. I asked sunday and had one sent from scotland for £50, it arrived this morning and is now installed.

Just thought I'd update with the latest prices I've just been given.

Local TPS Say:

6LL 129 621 - £16.18 + VAT

6LL 129 618 - £61.14 + VAT

That comes out as £92.78 for both inc VAT at the new 20% rate. Ouch.
