Sounds like the known (and mentioned above) bug, worst case is you'll have to download 803.4 manually and install it then. It should work fine when updating from 803.4 to future versions.

Latest versions are VCDS 908.2, Beta 10.3 (32 bit) and 10.4 (64 bit), and the newly announced VCDS-Lite Release 1.0. The latter is Shareware and replaces VAG-COM versions 311 and 409.

VCDS Release 908 and Beta 10.3/10.4 have been replaced by the new Release 10.6 - available as 32 and 64 bit Version, the installer will automatically determine which one to install. :)
