Alarm

Featured Replies

Yer,

My alarm on the Fabia vRS keeps going off at random intervals, there are no gnats etc in the cabin so I'm confused?

It does go off when vehicles pass it though?????

Only started doing it since Monday....anyone any ideas? I'm taking it to the dealers tomorrow to ask them.

Cheers people.

I've only had mine a fortnight but twice it has gone off when I closed the garage door, maybe it is a bit too sensitive? If it becomes a problem I will take it into the dealers - maybe they can adjust the sensitivity?

The dealers put the box on it to look for faults and now it doesn't do it at all....strange.

Hahaha, mine went off last night - wondered what all the noise was about, tried to look out the window, but the angle was all wrong and couldn't see anything, so just went back to sleep

Do all Fabia vRS's have alarms?

I've never heard mine go off.

As far as I'm aware. Kick it and see what happens ;)

I've never heard mine go off.

Ditto

Mines just gone off with no apparent reason too!!

if you want to know if the alarm works, just unlock the door with the key, open it and wait.........

Had this problem with my 54 plate VRS. after about a three days of the alarm going off randomly I took it to my local dealer (as the car is still under warrenty) they pluged it into the dignostic software which showed NO problems.

The technician then checked the sensors on the boot, bonnet and doors. cleaned the the bonnet one up, its now OK.

Have a look at the bonnet sensor 'cos its a bit exposed under the bonnet release catch.;)

Thanks AliB, I will look at that later on tonight.

I have lifted the bonnet once to add some washer fluid and it hasent done it since, so perhaps it was the bonet switch.

Can you adjust the alarm sensitivity??

mine has been known to do this. I close all the air vents when i get home. Seems to stop it.

To test lock the car with the key fob whilst sitting in side. keep still for 30 seconds then move around.

Can you adjust the alarm sensitivity??

Yes I believe the sensitivity adjustment is behind the interior light panel......

Chris

Thank you

I too didn't realsise they had alarms! must try!

Wind down a rear window, then lock the car. Stick your head in through the window to trigger the alarm. Sensitivity can be adjusted with Vag-Com, I think. False alarms are sometimes hot air leaving the windscreen vents after the car is locked: turn heater to footwells to avoid this.

Hmmm, had a feel and quick looksee - couldn't see / feel anything that could be **** / dial. Can you be more specific, Chris ?

Do you mean inside the light panel ?

Well it does have an approved Thatcham Catagory One security system fitted as standard but I didn't realise that the alarm was so sensitivie.

Yeah where can you adjust the sensitivity please?

Thanks

Does anyone know where to adjust this?
