Hi all

I'm hoping you can help me. I have an '03 1.4 Fabia and for the past couple of days the red oil light has been showing on the dashboard intermittently and accompanied by 3 electronic beeps.

I checked the manual and it said this warning light indicated low engine pressure. I have checked the oil and it's fine. The light isn't on all the time and only seems to come on when I'm in 1st/2nd gear and usually, but not always, going round a corner.

I've had several problems with the electronic control system since I bought the car in October and I'm loathe to spend yet another

Firstly it could be as simple as an oil pressure switch failed.

My dad had this problem on his Fabia which was traced down to a faulty wiring loom over the nearside wheel arch. It was repaired under warranty by Skoda as it was a known issue on the earlier cars.
