vRS Front bumper paint peeling

Featured Replies

After reading http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/lacquer-peeling-off-my-bumber/89868/ I realised I'm not the only one to have paint peel off the lower apron of the vRS bumper where it joins the upper bumper- so:

1. How many of you have had paint peel in this area (see pic).

2. Have you had it fixed under the paint warranty?

3. How difficult was it to persuade htem to fix it?

4. What Dealer?

It should be fixed under warranty provided that there is no other evidence of possible accident damage.

Mine is also peeling like that but out of warranty....or is there a separate paint/anti-corrosion warranty?

When my car was in warranty it was a case of.. oh dear, no problem we'll fix it. No persuasion involved.

Mine was taken to Simpsons Skoda (Colne, Lancashire) who were very helpful.

Paint warranty is 10 years IIRC.

No, paint is 3 years. Body perforation (corrosion) is 10.

My dealer claimed it wasn't a defect, but that the bumper has bee repainted by a previous owner. I could have accepted that but:

1) There's no sign if any repair work I can see apart from a few spots the dealer did before I bought it.

2) Other cars seem to have the same issue.

Mine's also doing this in the exact same place. It's out of the 3 year warranty too so I'd have to pay for it. Bugger. :(

I have had that problem:(

Easily fixed under warranty by my local dealer, Chapmans of Pickering in North Yorks.

They actually said it was common on VRS Fabias!!
