When you turn your ignition on do you get a battery light come up?

When you turn your ignition on do you get a battery light come up?

Nope.....oh thanks for removing my chassis number from my original post

Thats your alternator issue then, they alternator has a link to the engine ECU and dash, this has gone down.

First place to check is the connector in front of the gearbox for correded/broken connections. If all that checks out ok then it could be a faulty alternator.

Kool....thanks for the help Lummox. I haven't had any issues with the battery not recharging or anything though but will check it out.

I would check the charge rate, if the light isn coming on then it isnt charging. You may find the battery will die in the not too distant future.

Now VAG-COM doesn't seem to want to work ....anybody any idea what appears to be the problem? Not sure why it's saying the CAN is not ready

Got it working again, don't know what was going on. Had some fun last night testing my 0-100kph, best I could achieve was 9.1seconds (on a private runway of course :D) but I know I can improve that as I didn't get the perfect start and could improve my gear change a bit.
