How to change ECU map on VAGCOM?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My car is remapped and if I want to return it to stock. How can I do that using VAGCOM?

Does anyone know? I've heard of changing softcoding from 1 to 0 or similar depending on the location of the map.

But where in VAGCOM do I do this?

I would be interested to know if this is possible. I want a switchable remap, but I am loathed to pay £200 more for it.

I'm guess depending on the remapper this would be possible, after all I think one of the remappers use the diagnostic port to swap maps.

I really don't think its something this easy. The switchable maps I know of work by reuploading the different map each time from a standalone device.

I'm sure the tuner who did your mapping will happily return it to stock for you. :)

Like tom says its not possible to do via vagcom unless you already have a switchable map of somekind already loaded.

I think Custom Code was switchable using VAG-COM and REVO used have use Lemmiwinks software although it wasn't an on/off switch.

Don't quote me on this - but IF you have a switchable map you should see a soft coding number on the engine module login screen thingie, second or third from top on the left IIRC. Usually it starts with 0 for the standard map and is changed to 1 for the next map - you use the 'recode' function.

Hey thanks!! You can send it on care of Xav or WW please.......

Btw - soon for sale an ECU with 3 switcheable maps on it - OEM, pro tuned to 187.5bhp - no FMIC and even higher-tuned for a FMIC.

Just tried it. Controller 01 - Engine, softcoding was a 5 digit number starting 11500. Guessing it cant be changed. The only reason I asked is that CustomCode ones can be changed like so.

Oh well, will take it to mapper when it needs to go into stock mode.

If your softcoding states 11500, couldn't you change it back to 01500? Would this put it back to standard?

No, I couldn't change it. I've even tried 01500
