Octavia Steel Sump Guards

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm looking at getting one of these guards for my new vrs, so i can use it for road rallying without fear of bursting the sump! My local VAG TPS cannot find it on there ETKA:thumbdwn: Does anyone have the part numbers for all the parts needed to fit it? I've had a search on here but i can't seem to find them!

Cheers

Andy

These are the part numbers that I ordered for mine;

1x Engine Gearbox Guard 1J0 018 930 C

2x Retainer 1J0 018 885 A

7x Riveted Cap Nuts N908 106 01

7x Bolts N100 704 03

3x Buffers 1J0 018 977A

3x Retainers 1J0 018 967A

2x Bolts N908 704 01

Hope that helps.

How much is that lot approx. My mum and dads lane is rough and i worry about mine.

the skoda dealer should be able to find it as mine did and fitted it.

should be the same parts for a 4 x4 or mention police spec sump guard

a very useful mod which I use quite a lot

Perfect cheers for that!

iain, it's not quite a skoda dealer i'm getting it from. I work for a Bodyshop and we buy our VAG parts from Volkswagen Group's Trade Parts. anything remotely obscure and they can never find the right thing!

It's about £150 all in

I just sold mine (never been used) to 4x4t. A Skoda main dealer should be able to find the parts...... It aint some numpty on a YTS scheme playing on the computer is it?:D

You will need quite alot of small bolts, 3 rubber bushes, 2 brackets etc. to fit it too.

I take it you haven't fitted it then:)

I take it you haven't fitted it then:)

Was just wondering how much they are new:).Still had it a bit cheaper than dealer.

Will be fitted in the next couple of weeks. After i have had MOT and 4 new tyres on my new rims(not fitted to car yet).Been sat in my garage for 2 weeks:thumbdwn:

Here are the parts prices I paid from Mid Cornwall Cars;

Engine Gearbox Guard 1J0 018 930 C £58.75

Retainer 1J0 018 885 A £15.32

Riveted Cap Nuts N908 106 01 £1.67

Bolts N100 704 03 £1.13

Buffers 1J0 018 977A £1.39

Retainers 1J0 018 967A £3.29

Bolts N908 704 01 £1.24

Prices are each and include VAT.

I have one and would never look back. It scares the cr@p out of me when i hit it hard (which i do alot) , make a very loud metalic bang like i just pulled my engine out fron under the car, lol.

Still, its knowing its their that makes me be able to drive "Briskly" safe in the knowledge that my sump will stay safe :)

Checked it last weekend and despite the loud bangs, the sump guard is only lightly scrapped, their strong old things. And heavy tho.

Regards

Garry

Well I ordered my one today! Ended up getting it from the VW dealer my work deals with. I got more discount from them than the TPS thats owned by VAG!!! I take it is quite easy to fit.

My new guard got delivered today:thumbup: How easy is it to fit?? My local VW dealer says that the are a nightmare to fit on golf's so they recon that it will just be the same on the Octavia! Are there any special tools needed to fit it?

Cheers

Andy

You need a special tool for putting in the rivnuts into the chassis. The only person i found was the dealer.

Think my old man has workend out a way to fit the rivinuts. Gonna have a try at the weekend to fit it

I have heard a rumour you can do it with a bolt and some washers that have the correct size hole in them and grease, but this was onlu done on the smaller sizes not m10 like on these.
