I'll second this. I dropped my VRS off yesterday for its second service (36K on variable). I found them very friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with.

Cost was £161 including brake fluid change and long life oil. Dealer wanted £299 for the same service.

When I picked up the car it had been washed and dried. All in all I would highly recommend DSB. My next service or any work that needs doing - I'll certainly go back there above the main dealer or any other garage.

Cheers

Richard

I had my Superbs front coil spring replaced here on Sunday, Dave had quoted me a price of £113.68. which included 1.3 hours for labour. Unfortunately the pinch bolt was stuck soild and no amount of WD40, hammering, drilling was shifting it anytime soon. Dave manfully spent 5 and half hours before finally getting the darn thing out. When it came out all that was left off a 4inch bolt was about 3/4 inch of bolt. The rest was in fillings on the floor.

Dave and Sara throughout kept admirable calm and professionalism when I'm sure most of us would have been going up the wall with rage.

Dave didn't add a penny to the bill, despite all his extra efforts.

Heaven knows how much this would have cost at a main dealers.

Dave and Sara are a really top team I hope everyone in the East Midland supports their business, they deserve every success.

A highly delighted customer.

I have emailed them twice now but unfortunately not received a reply to either. Shame as they are very local to me and I am always keen to keep my cash in the district if possible.

Most places like that are usually pretty busy. I find you'll always get a better response by phoning them directly.

I phoned a couple of times too, but the line just rang out. I'll prob just pop in next time I'm in Bulwell.

I use Dave for all my skoda woes, hes always very busy, sometimes working till 8pm, unfortuately Sarah is not there anymore, hence lack of response. I suggest you drop down, if hes not there then he will have taken a car for MOT usually. He knows his stuff and is cheaper than elsewhere.

I found they were very good on price and reset my Octy back to variable servicing, but I was disappointed that they didn't do all the work I asked them to do.

Checked my pollen filter a couple of days after getting serviced there, and the pollen filter was absolutely filthy. The air filter hadn't been changed or cleaned either. Admittedly, I wasn't charged for them, but I would have liked them changed.

I'd like to give the thumbs up for Dave. He's always helpful and honest with his advice. I went down to see him on spec on Monday morning as I had experienced a rattling sound when I was driving the previous day. Even though he was busy he spared me 20 minutes to try to have an initial look then later in the day after I finished work, he spent another 30 minutes to do a proper inspection in the workshop. I can recommend him!

I must add my excellent experience of Dave's work, very competitively priced, happy to offer advice about your car if you ask and a true service professional. He even hooked up VCDS when I went to collect it and changed a few of the 'Security options' for me (Beep on lock etc) without any charge. I've been to garages that charge £60 for initial hook up and then £30 per hour thereafter for prolonged diagnostics. :S

My Mum even takes her Pug 206 to him now as he's the only garage that hasn't ripped he off for being a woman on her own

If you are in or around Nottingham you should use no-one else for VAG machines, excellent service and very pleasant to deal with B)

Another thumbs up for Dave! Very good service at DSB.

Just to say that I too have used Dave at DSB a few times now for little issues and for servicing and cant recommend him highly enough. Drives a Superb himself, ex-Renshaw Newsome technician and a really friendly, honest, likeable guy too.

Its great to have a local specialist that I can trust and can see no reason to use anyone else in the future.

I've been going to Dave/DSB for years too, mostly on my Leon TDI but he did the recent service on my Fabia as well. Always impressed with his work and his prices, and get on really well with him as a person too which is a bonus. A couple of my mates use him pretty much exclusively now, including one guy who comes over from Lincolnshire specifically.

Doesn't do anything performance-wise, but got no reason to go anywhere for the basics and standard stuff, his labour is usually a fair way cheaper than any of the local tuning garages and I'd trust him a lot more than some of the horror stories I've heard about Midlands tuners such as JBS.

Im about to drop mine off for cambelt and a 20k service. I called down and they couldnt give me a fixed price there and then, there seemed a lot of confusion over parts. Im waiting on a call back to confirm everything. Not the most inspiring start!

Have to say I'm surprised, he's always on the ball whenever I ring him, although can be tricky to get hold of sometimes. Was it today you dropped in? He's having a nightmare of a day dealing with my Fabia today which might explain why it wasn't on the top of his head...

All okay now, booked in for Friday week. He was struggling with my engine code!

Id just like to add that I had a good experience with DSB.....cambelt and 20k service.

Will definitely be using them again!

Good, glad Dave came through in the end, he's difficult to get hold of sometimes but I've always found it worth persevering, his work is top quality at bottom prices IMO :)
