Default Allard Motor Company, Gloucester

I would highly recommend Allard's for many reasons:

• They are the only organisation that does not just remap or modify diesels they race them. That is, they put their money where their expertise is. From their experience of racing they know the limits of modifications and are able to guide customers helping them to avoid limitations of their car. For example, I would have not considered the benefits of a front mounted intercooler as I considered it did not add to the engine power. They pointed out that re-mapping modification would lead to a temperature increase and could put an extra strain on the engine. To decrease this using a front mounted intercooler made it possible to add more boost thus power.

• They discussed the work been undertaken at their premises at every stage which helped them modify my car considering my driving style. It is a testament to their work and expertise that my car has never missed a beat considering it now produces 181 bhp and 301 lb ft torque having started its life as Skoda Fabia TDI PD100. During a recent acceleration my car outstripped every modified Fabia VRS during BRISKODA forum event. Also, it produced fewer emissions than most of the diesel cars.

• I would estimate that their work is as good as the manufacturer in terms of both the quality of the products and fitting.

• It has been a pleasure to discuss various subjects with them at race meetings. For example, 2nd gear starts, the delivery of power/ torque. They made me feel as though I am one of the team.

• If you decide on a hybrid turbo for your tdi Allard's in my opinion Allard's is THE only place you should have your car remapped

How much were you paid for that post John?

In all seriousness, a fair review of a great tuning company.

I'm deffo looking at them for their FMIC, but still shopping around for the best prices.

Nick at Jabba has been very kind in replying to my many emails promptly and helpfully.

Unlike a couple of companies that I won't even bother mentioning.....

I sent a PM to one rep who didn't even bother to reply - needless to say Jabba got my order for Eibachs, (which are really amazing BTW!).
