In Topic: Voluntary redundancy

Depends what he does. I took voluntary redundancy in Nov 2010, and haven't been out of work since. Set up my own IT consultancy in Nov and tbh at the moment there's loads of work. I was recruiting for a SME between May and Oct last year and redundancy didn't matter one bit if they were the best person for the job. -

My God give him some slack. As has been said, there will have been extra kit in the car, it's a test drive. The car would be likely used to pursue other high performance vehicles, the cops need to test it at high speed in all conditions.
I wrote off a transit van when in the cops, I crashed into another marked police vehicle when chasing a nicked Golf Gti. If you want the cops to catch people, sometimes accidents will happen. -

They have to prove that it was sent within the 14 day period - check the dates on the letter. They do NOT have to prove receipt at your end. If it's outside the 14 day period, send it back with a letter stating they've failed to comply with the legal requirements and therefore no offence has occurred. You'll probably get a subsequent summons for failing to notify driver at time of incident, which has no legal basis they just try it on. No offence = no requirement to id driver. CPS will run it to court and offer no evidence if you bother to turn up.
If it's within the 14 day period, fess up and take your punishment. FWIW lancashire Police did me for 34 in a 30 zone, no offer of a speed awareness course. Mind I should have known better I was in the cops at the time. -

Natwest. They're really good, any problems there's someone at the branch I can ring to sort it all out. Business banking is the same, got an account manager with direct dial, ring them they sort it out. -
In Topic: Just paid my income tax bill

Well I had a shock when I came home from work yesterday. A tax demand for £152,490.42 to be paid within 7 days. I nearly **** myself.
I've only been trading since late 2011!!!!!! Was on the phone at 0801hrs this morning. Needless to say it was a mistake at the Tax Office.
But here us a list of the taxes I have paid so far this year:
- Employers NI
- Employees NI
- Income Tax
- Corporation Tax
- Dividend Tax
- Dividend Tax on my pension fund (tbh which isn't much once the govt's had its share there fook all left to save)
- VAT (on company services)
- VAT on personal expenditure
- Fuel Duty (+VAT on the fuel duty)
- Road Fund Licence
- Driving licence renewal tax
- passport renewal tax
- council tax
- Stamp duty
- Planning application tax
- Having a screen in the corner of your front room licence
- VAT on car Insurance(at a lower rate than normal VAT. VAT on a legal requirement. How is that a luxury?????)
- Surcharge on utility bills to pay for wind farms and other forms of "renewable" energy
+ a load of others I probably don't even realise I'm paying.
