I love the car, but a new job with high mileage forces the sale, I'm going back to my old V70 where the miles on the clock don't matter.

Seat Exeo 2.0 Tdi S (143)
19 April 2011 - 09:17
Right bought one of these to replace the Furby VRS.
59 plate 143 bhp, 6 speed manual, airbags allround, Leather steering wheel, heated seats, Bluetooth connection, MP3 player input, ISOFIX mountings for the kids, DZ Climate control, cruise control. Boot is massive compared to the Furby.
Engine is nice and smooth, but lacks real punch. Cruising at motorway speeds is effortless, but I find overtaking is like travelling through treacle compared to the Furby.
I consider it a comfy and civilised place to be, everything seems well put together, and it soaks up the cr*ppy road surfaces without too much trouble. Handling seems OK for a larger car, though I don't like throwing it around it just seems too big and feels like there's a lot of understeer waiting to show itself.
I've had it 7 weeks and put 2,200 miles on it (total 6,000 miles). I'm getting about 38-39 mpg, which is lower than the advertised figures, but for a large car it doesn't seem unreasonable. -
Anyone had a Peugot 106

Stepdaughter wrote her Golf off. Grr rant on another thread.
Anyway she is (shock horror) buying her own car. She's looking at a Peugot 106, 5 door 1.1. R reg 70,000 miles. Looks in decent condition. got 12 months MOT. Bearing in mind her extremely limited budget, and the usual things to look for in an old car, does anyone know anything specific to that model I should look out for? -
Stupid kids! Rant rant rant

19yr old Step daughter got her own car 27th January. A 17yr old VW golf Ryder in great condition, which was given to her and I serviced it, taxed/Mot'd it and put new tyres on it.
In a little over 2 months she has generally trashed it by taking no care of it. She has driven everywhere like a bat out of hell, normally about 2 foot from the car in front. There are umpteen scrapes and scratches on the car, and 2 claims on her policy, one when she hit a car in a car park, and yesterday she rear ended another car, writing the golf off.
Needs a new bonnet, bumper, headlights, indicators/fogs, grill/surround and there's likely some chassis damage. Looks like she'll be back on the bus until she's about 25 then. Am not a happy bunny :rain:
