  1. Maybe not...

    26 January 2012 - 12:42

... 1 piece of actual vRS spec kit on it?

A very convincing vRS replica,.. "Loads of time and money spent on making it look like vRS"...

    Hmmmm.. Shoulda tried harder....
  2. ARB failing bush symptoms

    09 January 2012 - 21:16

I have a rattle.... it's excited by un even ground... not big bumps, pot holes or sleeping policemen... And never happens on smooth roads, regardless of manoeuvres.

The steering is still spot on, the tracking is the same as ever and I have no knocks caused by acceleration or braking.. And it brakes in a straight line.

It's a rattle and slight knocking, that happens only when the ground gets a bit rough and un predictable...

It's Anti roll bar bushes, aint it? :)
  3. Oil Quality

    23 December 2011 - 18:53

I'm gonna do the 10k/annual service on my Furby.

It's the first time I've done my own service and I'm confident of my basic mechanical skills for this.. but....

There's sooo many oils that meet the right spec... Is there actually anything between them? Or would buying the cheapest I can find that meets the VW spec fit the bill?

Can anyone honestly say they've noticed the difference between oils? It's a difficult thing to quantify as new oil will always feel better than old oil.
  4. Vax have a deal on.

    13 December 2011 - 16:46

Delete.... It's missing the upholstery wash tool.. DOH!
  5. Leaky doors.. Not the carrier?

    08 December 2011 - 13:07

    ..

I'm pretty sure my carrier is water tight... I've re sealed it... I'm also confident my technique is good because the other doors have lasted over 2 years now... This is the 3rd time I've done the drivers door.

So.. I noticed the other day that my seal was damp again.. Not pooling water on top of it.. but just wet where it had been against the metal of the door.. I'd always assumed this was the carrier leaking down the door and sitting between the 2 but not leaking enough to pool..

But the other day I realised the wet part was also halfway up the seal on the vertical parts.. almost up to to the lock level.

I can't see how that could be the carrier....

Has my rubber door seal given up? Or does my car have Rising damp, lol.
