  2. Congratulations to Robshaw

    31 January 2012 - 01:27

I kept hearing the name mentioned on radio sports bulletins, but didn't hear the full report, so didn't understand the significance until now

Anyway, congratulations Robshaw on being named the new England rugby captain

Obviously all those years of asking "are you cute?" have finally paid off, and you have received the recognition you deserve
  3. Why do so many people knock Halfords?

    31 January 2012 - 01:17

Before going any further, let me make it clear that I am not employed by Halfords, and have no link to Halfords which would lead me to plug them as a company

I'm looking at refurbing my front calipers with black Hammerite, using the brush on tin, as opposed to aerosol, and didn't want the smallest tin, but the next size up

Called into my local Do-It-All store, with supposedly competitive prices, and it was £22.99

Being a bit of a tight wad, I thought I'd just have a look in Halfords to compare before I emptied my wallet of said £22.99, and found the price was an amazing £17.99

For anyone who doesn't have maths as a strong point, that's a massive £5 saving!
  4. Anyone have first hand experience of EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads?

    29 January 2012 - 23:49

I know that they are :-

    a) pretty expensive

    B) totally unnecessary for my car

but the advertising blurb says that they are supposed to cut down on brake dust, and do the job very, very well

Are they worth it, or is there better VFM to be had?

    Cheers
  5. Hot/burning rubber smell from diesel Monte

    29 January 2012 - 16:50

Just wondering if anyone has witnessed this at all

Drove 3 miles into town today, parked up, and on getting out of the car immediately smelt a hot/burning rubber smell

No indicator lights on dash to show any faults etc

Done just under 5000 mils since end of September

    Any clues? :(
