  1. Is there a magic number...

....of pounds that would make you part with your car?

Even if you don't want to sell is there a threshold that if someone went "I'll give you x pounds" you'd do a deal.

and yes of course stupidly high fgures £100,000 woudl always do the trick but is there also a realistic number?
  2. Would you buy a car from this guy?

    31 January 2012 - 09:48

I'm looking for a PD130 Ibiza to replace my thirsty 2.0 gti

There are a couple on Autotrader which fit the spec and budget and are "trader" adverts.
Normally that sets me a little at ease and he has a logo and 20 cars for sale so looks legit
However a trader with 2 mobile numbers listed? Hmmmm.

Being at work i'm unable to call up and talk about it so i did the next best thing and sent a text

    Hi
Sorry for the text but I am meant to be working not looking for new cars.
Do you still have the 2002 Seat Ibiza TDI for sale as found on the autotrader website?
    Thanks

  3. FOR SALE - Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport GTI - £1000

    25 January 2012 - 12:09

I am reluctantly putting up for sale PastyWagon #2

The car was purchased 11 months ago as a commuting/track tool; however the track tool plans haven't really came to pass and there must be cheaper ways to commute out there!
The car has been mechanically flawless during my ownership, with the only non-scheduled trips to garages being caused by scrotes (drilled fuel tank) and 13 years worth of corrosion (exhaust).

    Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport Gti
    1999 V plate
    2.0l 8v engine
    116,000 miles
    Regularly serviced and maintained
    brand new exhaust
    spare set of alloy wheels
    MOT'd until Feb 2013
    Tax'd until March
    Fuelly average of 34.8 mpg

Also includined in the sale will be:
a complete central locking system - was purchased to fix it not unlocking on the remote - only to find just the key fob needed replacing
a set of VW Corrado alloy wheels - purchased to use on the trackday but as yet haven't been on the car

    Ideally looking for £1000
  4. Why do we keep so many photos?

    16 January 2012 - 16:06

I know digital photography has made taking photos easier and the ability to store hundreds of images on a disk rather than in a suitcase full of developed hard copies is much more convenient but why!?

I've just been updating my media storage drive as it was getting close to full.
Even after deleting watched movies it was still amost full so had a quick look at the photos folder

    :o

Hundreds of thousands of images going back anything up to 5 years.
Most of which were taken at motorsport.
Most of those at Castle Combe
Most of those of the same championsip round after round.
Leading to hundreds of almost identical photos that i haven't looked at for years.
Resulting in a hard drive that is now almost full.
If it was still the 90's i'd need an entire room for my developed photos.

Despite knowing all this I just couldn't push delete.
Other than a select few, that are honoured and grace a "wallpapers" folder that Windows 7 rotates for me to raise my work day, most have probably only been seen when I filtered through them immediately after the event.

Why am i bothering to keep them?
