In Topic: Anyone running 255 35 tyres on 18" rims?

Yeah, that's my thought too. JonnyC got away with the tyre to pillar distance (just) and I think there is more room under an Octavias arches.
The 255 35 18 is almost identical rolling circumference to OEM but an 8.5" rim is the minimum and probably an ET45 offset. -

No need - he already has a Quaife ;)
255 is possible. You'll need an 8.5" rim, with an ET of 50 ideally (minimum 48) then potentially some arch rolling and liner modification. I think the clearance will be tight, but it is doable.
Have a read of this http://www.mk5golfgt...p?topic=11099.0
You will be surprised how much difference the extra 30mm on each tyre will make to the traction. I'm saving to try this setup in the summer with Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3 with Toyo R888 255/35/18 rubber :)
Yep, it was Harry that got me thinking about this a while ago and as Harry says, I already have a Quaife ATB diff (really should update my sig!). He would also say that the Goodyear Assymetric 2's that I am currently running are good around the corners but not so great for forward traction...and I would have to agree compared to others I have tried - they have little in the way of coss-sectional tread which may not help.
There's no doubt that a 7.5" rim ain't going to work; I was wondering what would. Harry - I think I will let you pioneer this one before I throw any more money at this ;) -
In Topic: Money no object, what's the best suspension for ride quality for a vRS?

Have to say that I am very happy with Koni FSDs and Eibach springs too so agree with Wardy. I wasn't too attracted to coilovers given a few back problems that I have but hear that some coilies are quite forgiving. If I were to have a sniff at coilies, it would be the B12s also. -

There may be some benefits but they are quite minimal compared with, say, changing to Audi S3/Golf R32 calipers or the NQS BBK (Not-Quite-So-Big-Brake-Kit) discussed in the 'How To' section on here.
