  1. Hi. Had my VRS Estate for a couple of years now and I still have the amber warning light on the dash telling me there is a problem with the lighting, however all the bulbs are working. I've been told by a couple of people that it's because the car has had a replacement screen and the camera for lane assist hasn't been re calibrated. On the screen it's saying lane assist isn't available so it's possibly correct. Has anyone had the same issue? Find it a bit strange an unrelated issue would give a lighting warning.
  2. Only really want to get a light turned off even if its temporarily whilst I run the car and see if my initial problem (disappearing coolant) has been fixed.
  3. Hi Can anyone recommend a fault reader/ diagnostic scanner which will enable you to turn off the emissions warning light as well as reading the error codes?
  4. I'm going to drop into a local VW specialist tomorrow to ask their opinion.
  5. Hi. Have been experiencing a loss of coolant for quite a while (VRS tdi) and has recently become worse. Used to be 3 weeks between needing a top up now its down to less than one. I believe that the most common culprits are leaky waterpumps and possibly EGR valve? However I'm wondering if anyone has had a head crack because on a few occasions on startup the engine has refused to initially turn over, I've never experienced a hydraulic lock before so don't know how this manifests itself. The car is due a cam belt/ waterpump change but am reluctant to get that done if I've got other issues elsewhere. Oil consumption is also quite heavy. Car runs fine with no loss of power.
  6. It's not long had a new battery, does seem to be working better now, just not 100%
  7. Gave the screen a good clean and tried them again this morning. They did work but not perfectly. On a couple of occasions they kept on wiping for quite a while after the rain had stopped and the screen was dry. Guess its just the way they are.
  8. Thanks. I don't yet know what is causing the problem but my wipers just seem to work like standard intermittent ones, ie you put them on and they merrily sweep away at a constant speed and moving the sensitivity adjuster just increases the frequency of the sweep regardless of the amount of rain. They also seem to work as soon as you turn on the ignition and not when you move off.
  9. Can anyone tell me if the autowipers were to fail for any reason the system would revert automatically back to a conventional manual intermittent type?
