Octavia WRC 100 Edition No 73/100 Reluctantly FOR SALE
That is a very fair price for how much work has been put into that. I wish I had the funds for something like this. Best of luck with the sale, let's hope it stays on the forum.

Thoughts on buying a 2007 2.0 PD TDI (auto) Octavia estate?
If it's a 2.0 TDI engine it will be a wet clutch dsg box. The dry clutch boxes were only fitted to the lower powered 1.4 petrol and 1.6 TDI in the facelift cars from around 2010 onwards

2008 Octavia Cheap OBD reader.
Some of the basic obd devices can read gearbox codes but I've always found them unreliable. Carista is the cheapest option that I know of that can access all of the modules and fault codes on Skoda/VW It would be worth trying with a 1 month subscription before you write the car off. https://amzn.eu/d/00JGiMqO

Fluctuating Coolant Temps
Also I noticed that you're in NZ. I know in some hotter countries there are different thermostats fitted that are set to open at a much lower temperature, make sure you've got the right one for your climate.

Fluctuating Coolant Temps
I would try first of all by replacing the DSG stat with a new one of a decent brand. They're not expensive and it's an easy enough job to do DIY. AliExpress is great for some things but you never know the quality of what you're getting, especially when it comes to car parts

Back after a long time away
Welcome back to the forum. Not sure if our paths crossed much back in the day but I remember seeing your posts. I still miss my old vRS, 12 years now since I sold it, how time flies. Driving just for the fun of it, travelling all over the country for meets, the old days of the forum sure were fun times.

DPF Help 2.0 TDI Sharan
I've managed to solve this. I spoke to a helpful DPF specialist who ran through what they would do in this situation. Run a cleaner through the DPF via the O2 sensor hole. Get the car up to temp Reinitialse the DPF with VCDS, effectively telling the car a new dpf was fitted Force a static regeneration keeping a close eye on the exhaust temperature and pressures, running with the bonnet open. As I'd already done step 1, they said as long as there isn't sloppy black gunk coming out the exhaust which would indicate a cracked DPF, I should be safe to proceed. EGT temperatures shouldn't get much above 650° C for a prolonged period and if they do to kill the regeneration process and let the car cool. The exhaust was clean so I followed the process. EGT got up to 648° and didn't climb any further. Process finished and no more limp mode.

DPF Help 2.0 TDI Sharan
My 2012 2.0 TDI Sharan has done 195k miles. The last couple of weeks I've had an engine light on because of a gunked up ASV valve. During that time it wouldn't do a particle filter regeneration but the car drove normally. I've since cleaned the asv, but I'm now stuck in limp mode with the particle filter light stuck on. I've tried forcing a regeneration with VCDS but it wouldn't accept it as the soot level was too high. I've taken the oxygen sensor out and filled the dpf with foaming dpf cleaner, left to sit for 1hr, then started the car. When started soot mass calculated was 55.53g, measured was 4.47g. Left idling for 15 minutes Soot mass calculated has now climbed to 56.26g, but measured is still 4.47g Difference pressure was around 20hPa when I first started the car, but it's now dropped down to 10. From what I understand this should result in the estimated value going down not up? Oil ash volume is 0.04L. I've owned the car for 18 months and done around 10k and never had any dpf problems before now. The fault code won't clear. Any help appreciated

Are the centre cup holders big enough for fast food cups or bubble tea (boba milk tea)?
This was one thing that I found frustrating with the MK2 Superb. The door pockets weren't large enough to hold a bottle and the centre console cup holders were only just large enough for a coke can or slim bottle. In the end I found a clip on cup holder designed for prams and clipped it to the door card.

Infotainment.
That's definitely an aftermarket unit. There are so many that look so similar, the only way you're going to really find more about it is to pull it out and hope there is a manufacturer and model no on a label.

Front Bumper Parking Sensors
You can buy kits to retrofit them 100% OEM as if they have come from the factory, and they come with the required brackets that have sticky pads to fix to the inside of the bumper. I'm pretty certain that after looking at pictures from breakers the inside of the bumper has markings where the sensors would be drilled out when fitted. You can just make them out on this eBay listing. https://ebay.us/m/GSyLEJ It should be a case of drilling out the holes and then either just buying new brackets, or if you can pry the existing ones off and just using new sticky pads like 3M VHB. Everything should swap just swap over then.
