  1. Hi - you don't need to pull it out all of the way to plug the new harness in. You should have plenty of room here to plug in the new connector block in to the back. I lay on my back looking up from the foot well to do mine as I didn't have as much slack as you have here. Good luck - you should be fine.
  2. Hi - that's exactly how it should work, and you'll see if you have reversing sensors the proximity screen would have deactivated at the same time prior to camera install. You may be able to code in a delay if you have the right software, but as standard this is how it behaves .
  3. That is a very specific scenario!
  4. I am not certain, but that head unit may not be able to display a video image. Do you have a media unit behind the glovebox hooked up to the head unit?
  5. As the new camera & boot release occupies the same size hole, the recessed boot release handle is smaller but still has a rubber micro switch in a similar place to open it.
  6. I haven't seen this kind of head unit before and the fact you don't have the media unit suggest this is a more basic head unit that may not be able to accept video signals
  7. This definitely sounds like a connection issue. The glovebox isn't too bad if you wiggle it from once disconnecting the dampener (and extend and snap back into place with a large screwdriver etc). Once you have a reversing camera there is no going back!
  8. Hi, that's right - the unit in the glove box. It can be a bit fiddly due to access but you'll do it. Glad this guide is still useful after all this time!
  9. That's fantastic! Pleased to help - you got this 👍
  10. I had the clutch master cyclinder replaced under approved used warranty last year. It's a common problem.
  11. No disassembly, just greasing the bushes from underneath. My car went to the dealers 3 times under warranty to fix the creaking before they figured out this was all was needed!
  12. I had the same thing a while ago. Ask them to grease the front wishbones and it should be fine. It's actually fairly common across many VAG platforms
  13. Hi, if you're using the Camera kit that I've mentioned (or a similar one) then the only real wiring is the piggyback harness that provides a feed for the camera in to the back of the media unit. The camera cable is a single cable that you have to feed through to the piggyback adapter. No coding should be needed
  14. But let's not forget the majority of EVs are being used as company cars due the the low BIK. You can get an Enyaq VRS, etron sportback or a Tesla all in for circa £130 pm. It is cheaper to do that than buy something older & out of warranty and you've still got your money to invest
  15. Glad you found it useful 👍
