  1. Does anyone else use snuff/alternative smoking methods

    01 February 2012 - 19:32

    Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone else used snuff?

I've recently decided to quit, well cut down for now at least, on smoking fags.

I'm nearly 21 years old and have smoked for about 7 years on and off.. mostly a couple a day for the last 4 years

Whilst doing so i've tried a few alternatives to smoking cigs. I get on well with the electric cigs which are good at reciprocating the motion and 'ritual' as it were of smoking.

Then I tried snuff from a friend at work and I got on really well with it, it's cheap, doesn't make you smell bad, unblocks my nose and is available in great flavours whilst delivering a rather strong nicotine hit (with the right amount)

Only problem is, you go anywhere everyone seems to think that you are on crack and have a cocaine habit lol.

So yeah, does anyone 'sniff the snuff' or have any other slightly strange nicotine replacements?

If so, what brand if any?

    Just curious really!

    Thanks all :)
  2. Has anyone got VAGCOM on windows 7

    23 January 2012 - 19:16

    http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_3161wt_1037

I bought this (not this actual one, the one I had didn't say it wouldn't work with windows 7)
But I just cannot get it to work with windows 7 and register the ports.

    Any ideas guys?
  3. Misfire on boost?!

    23 January 2012 - 17:37

Hi guys need a bit of advice..

Took my car to a local garage whom I know very well and trust completely (which is rare for me lol) to change the spark plugs to a colder grade plug and also track rod ends.

After test driving the car he informed me that there was a misfire logged on his diagnostic tester relating to the MAF sensor.

So i've drove to work today MAF plugged in and yes on Throttle wide open I was getting that MAF 'cough' most noticeable under full load in 5th gear on the motorway from roll on throttle.. Though bugger because I've just recently changed it for the 3rd time (bought a 2nd hand one cheap on here.. genuine Bosch)

Anyway, after work I've unplugged the MAF to drive it around on a base setting again until i cut my losses and buy a genuine bosch MAF (drove like that for 2 months with no issues what so ever.

Anyway the car is still missing under heavy load so I'm guessing it's not the MAF. Engine management light flashes if I really give it the boost but because MAF unplugged I've got the EML all the time now..

Plugged in the fault code reader and all I'm showing is MAF issues.

Anyway, any suggestions other than the MAF?!

Would the car ever misfire with the MAF unplugged if it was just the MAF?

    Thanks guys
  4. What size thread pitch is the Octavia Tow Eye Bolt

    23 January 2012 - 12:59

Without guessing and ordering loads of different bolts..

I'm after a tow strap for the front of the octy (purely a styling choice)
Anyone got any ideas on the thread size required to screw in to the tow eye as I need a bolt to screw into the chassis through the TRS Tow strap.

    Many thanks! :)
  5. What's the biggest botch job anyone has seen on a car?

    21 January 2012 - 10:35

    Hi All,

After my recent kwik fit dilemma "you can't get S*****r than a kwit-fit fitter" it got me thinking what is the biggest/most unsafe/funny botch job you have seen on a car..

There is a lot of real dodgy back street garages near me so I've seen some good stuff and heard some right horror stories.

A girl near me went to get new pads/discs.. obviously didn't fit them right and she ploughed into a queue of traffic at 60 mph after her brakes failed! That's a bit grim though, I want almost laughable things!

So go on what's the biggest botch

Wish I'd never bothered buying a cheap MAF sensor!
