To fold up the middle rear seat completely.
08 January 2012 - 14:58
My Dad passed me a clipping from the Honest John column in the Telegraph a few weeks where someone was complaining that it was impossible to roll up the Yeti middle rear seat properly.
I felt compelled to contact them as I too had suffered from this initially until I read the manual more carefully.
I thought I'd share the trick if anyone else wonders how its done...
1) Remove the head rest
2) Fold the seat back down in the normal way
3) Pull the seat back lever again whilst pressing the seat back down further into the squab. It will drop another few inches - thus making the whole package thinner and allowing the seat to fold up against the centre column/ air vent.
4) Release the lever to lock it in place.
So essentially, when its folded down - sit on it and fold/ squash it some more.
I noticed Honest John has amended his Yeti review to include this info now.

Wiper behaviour: Full to intermittent
19 November 2011 - 17:33
Something I noticed last week that I am sure never used to happen when I bought the Yeti...
The wipers switch to intermittent when you come to a stop, say at traffic lights. I am sure before they would continue running normally. When you start off again they go back to fully continuous.
Has anyone noticed this? I wonder if its a program upgrade when I had it in at the Vets for a service. -
Yeti rear Rattle/ clank. Does yours?
18 November 2011 - 18:24
Hello,
For as long as I can remember my yeti would rattle when going over a bump in the road - a clank like something is loose. Its been back to the garage twice and they still have not fixed it. Apart from giving it back to them and telling them not to return it until its fixed I wanted to investigate myself.
So far I know its not the seats, boot door, anything loose in the boot etc.
My feeling its as if a door isn't shut properly so tonight I have packed the latch mechanism to remove any slack etc. and will test drive it later.
I have tried to loosen the door latch striker plate to see if there is any adjustment, but it doesn't move so no joy there.
What I did also note is that if all the doors are shut, and you open a rear door and hold the handle open. Then close the door so it shuts but doesn't latch you can hear a flap in the rear wheel arch flap open to release the air pressure. Maybe its that which is rattling?
What I wonder is if anyone can send me a PDF of the workshop manual that shows how to remove the side boot trims etc as I am sure the issues is located either in the boot or the side trims by the seats etc. Or let me know if I can see them online?
Cheers

Cost of first Service?
28 April 2011 - 09:40
Hi,
My Yeti is coming up to its first service and I was wondering what the going rate is for the service? When I bought it I was told by Autosales in Cannock that it would be about £150. I spoke to Clock Garage in Spondon yesterday and they wanted £250+ (and probably +VAT too) which seems a little steep for essentially an oil and filter change plus some checks.
How much have you paid for it?
Thanks

Voice Control - hidden commands?
28 March 2011 - 08:08
I was demonstrating the voice control to my wife this morning on my Yeti and we got into a challenge to see if there were any other commands other than those in the help menu.
So far we found the following combinations;
'Hello' responds with 'Pardon?'
'Beer' responds with 'Function not possibel at this time'
Has anyone else played and managed a conversation with their Yeti?
As for actually getting it to respond to the proper commands its a bit hit and miss!
Simon
