| Weston on Nov. 4th but free rest of time, on a sunday, and all 1/2 term 20 oct to 27th? Quite fancy the seaside, how about Whitby/ robin hoods bay, nice roads in Heartbeat country, moors etc. and could pick up some kippers from fortunes ) Edit in light of Mr. Grumpies post re M62, Cleethorpes, then our Hull bretheren could attend?

| Is there anything to see in Skipton? Found it by mistake last week, was expecting "Skipton Market" to be massive, but found out quickly that it was erm, very small. Is there anywhere interesting to go there?

, Filey is the same. Large carpark at North side of Whitby but it is a way from the harbour. Also an excellent carpark at North Landing but there is bugger all there unless you fancy a swim in the caves ![]()

| I know a few good places around the Ponterfract area, close to both the M62 and A1. Having said that i quite like a good drive and they are less than 5 miles from me.

| Well, I'll vote for Scarborough. That would suit me just right as I'd have exactly zero miles to travel. The parking at Whitby isn't too bad, especially now the silly season is over. The big one up at the top of the Abbey is just fine, me and the missus use it if we're in Whitby for a bit of shopping. There is a pub at the botom of the Abbey steps and fish and chips if you use the other steps that not many people use or know about. Goathland (Heartbeat country) has a pub and a bit of parking, plus the roads are great, one reason to live round here. |

| I know we have been there and done that, but the post office meet was a good one, (barnsley) easy access from the m1 huuuugggeeee carpark, took nice photo's there, and there was space for the kids to play , just a thought :-) |

Would really prefer a nice scenic meet rather than a pub carpark really like the idea of whitby and a picnic at the abbey  How about Bridlington, massive car park on the south shore, twenty minute walk to harbour, fish and chips, etc then a waljk back and a nice drive out to Filey or for a longer route Pickering area. Nice roads, no cameras, should be reasonabley quiet at time of year
