was a decent little meet as matt said, but as always its dependent on people turning up. Its always disappointing when people dont show, but if the reasons are genuine then fair enough. Good to meet a few new faces, simon and his family, octimark and his lovely wife who comes from the Czech Republic and gave her thumbs up to my plate surrounds, bless her :-)I will sort out another meet then, and this time make it more accessible for the south sheffielders, although Omen1976 (Simon) made it ok from Eckington. As I said last night to Dave and Matt, Yorkshire is a nightmare region to try and get everyone together, and they both said its because we are all miserable northern barstewards lol. If anyone else wants to have a go at setting one up thats fine, if not i will start another thread with venue and date suggestions again. Sorry for the long post/rant, but im on my nokia at work, feeling rough and wishing i had let the missus drink and me drive instead :-(

I'm there if there's another one. As said in other thread absolutely gutted I couldn't make it as i'm a Skoda newbie. And love it!! lol. But football presentation do in Notts on the Friday.

For all of you that live up that way is there anyway that would be good for a meet?

We said that we would be more than willing to come down to you lot but none of us (Me, Damo and Dave) really know the area well enough to suggest somewhere else

Sorry for a late reply but I only use the internet at work . Was really good to put a few faces to names and give the other punters in the pub something to gossip about (boy racers etc). Me and the mrs were knackered so we (more me then her) had to head home but next time will be different, we will be around for longer. I blame it on the food, as soon as I’d finished I wanted to go to bed lol.

Everyone’s cars were pristine as you would imagine and put ours to shame. They were so filthy it was embarrassing. As has been said the meets only really work when people turn up and it’s easy to not be bothered when you don’t know anyone. For the record these guys are really friendly and within a couple of minutes you will be one of the gang. Thanks for a cheery welcoming guys (and gals).

I hope the stag/hen night went without incident and you won a bucket load of cash at the dogs.

Great to meet everyone and looking forward to the next meet up.

The stag/hen nights went great mate, but I lost loads at the dogs, not 1 bleedin winner

Really sorry I didn;t get to this - I even put the new rear tyres on the Mazda on Friday to make sure it was road legal, and also added some new chrome rubbing strips on the doors as well to tart it up.

Unfortunately when I got home my youngest wasn't 100% so had to give the meet a miss.

Anyhoo - we were back at the childrens hospital today and she's been given the all-clear so definitely up for the next meet!

Is there not a pub in spitting distance from the motorway anywhere near J33 Parkway/Rotherham?

As said before though I'm happy to travel and in a Waterthorpe/Eckington/North Ches convoy to top it off! Make it a bit more fun. eh?

Oooh - theres a pub just off there with a big car park - on PLeasley Rd - can't remember the name of it though. Junction 33 towards Rotherham, right at the roundabout and then rigt at the next lights and it's on the left. I think it's the Sitwell Arms at Whiston????

A location i can think of on the south side of Sheffield is Moorlands pub @ Owler Bar.... It's not near the motorway etc.... but has a large car park, play area inside for the kids and is an excellent starting point for a run out to Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock Bath etc..... after we've chatted and eaten.
