| Re: Can anyone tell me where the ECU unit will be located on my Golf? It's in the scuttle panel. Can't remember if it's on the driver or passenger side. Open up the bonnet, prise off the rubber seal on the scuttle panel & unclip the plastic rain cover. You should the ECU mounted on a bracket.

I've circled the ECU location on my old G60. Should be in a similar place on your Golf. ![]()
