Question Caravelle or Viano?

Looking for a weekend car and one for holidays.

Tossing up between the VW Caravelle and the Merc Viano now?. I'm assuming the "van" tdrivers on here could give some thoughts on either the transporter and the Vito, as I assume they'll be similar.

Any thoughts?

I think it's the Viano now... Both are very nice to drive considering their upbringing as commercial vehicles. Even as a van, though, i always preferred the Merc.

Haven't driven the latest transporter, although I hear it's very good. Merc has a reputation for being a bit thirsty, but they're both very fine vehicles.

Fully stickered and ready to play, Saxo boy. Go ahead. Make my day. Within the posted limit, of course.

Autocar did a van test not so long ago...Transporter was a stormer apparently.

Merc a bit underpowered.

Sorry....

Dam could not bring myself to do it...

Obviously spending a weekend in water has fried a few circuits...

I think a avan of any sort will make "life" far easier, if only for sitting on the back of or in when it's really raining and the tent is depressing.

Perhaps even consider a panel van with plenty of duvet storage space, 2 below 1 above makes for a snug tent.

The new Transporter is excellent, and the Caravelle even better.
Have only been in 1 Viano, but wasnt too impressed, and after owning Transporters niether was the owner. I know tha older Vito was terrible are rewards visibility, with mirrors more suited to a box brownie.
