| I'd choose the 1.8TFSi assuming it drives in a similar manner (with less power obviously) to the 2.0TFSi. I had my Octy 2.0TDi for 21k miles and it was very good in that time, however, I also had the chance to drive an Octy TFSi . . . quite simply I'd rather live with c30mpg in a 2.0TFSi than with mid 40's in the 2.0TDi, without taking into account the recent difference in cost between petrol and diesel. ![]()

| I'd say go for a 2.0TFSi with your mileage buying a diesel will be somewhat pointless. You'll be impressed with the 2.0TFSi but if your budget doesn't allow then you'll also be very happy with the 1.8TSi.

| I have only ever seen pics of these, are they even out yet? I would consider one if they ticked all the boxes. Previous cars I've owned with smaller engines can indeed be quite nippy.

| Do you do the flat or the hill side of the island and do you value speed or fuel economy more. flat = petrol, speed = petrol economy = derv 1.9 I'd probably say 1.8TFSI although a 1.9TDI would be very economical.

| Economy is not so much of an issue as I see a car as a necessity and choosing something that is fun to drive means I am not really going to be driving that economically. It's the fun factor and how it drives that I'm after looking into. ![]() I'm thinking the 1.8 may be the one to go for which is lucky as that's the engine that's in the demo.

| Wish they were yet it looks like with the FabiaII on market for more than a year the New-Ibiza now arriving in dealers the Polo & A1 should be 1-2 years out at most... Rumor mill has it that the A1 should be the 1st of the group to come with the independent rear suspension!!! |

| I had a li'l look see on the interweb the other night and the A1 cabrio will probably not be available until 2011. It looks ok but it's only a two seater and my friends would never forgive me! Stu...tell me about it, it's one of the lushest looking cabrios around in my opinion. The BMW one series is also very pretty but in the versus tests I've found on the net it seems the Audi is favoured. Have you seen the A3 in my album? ![]()
