| A Fresh Fabia Arrives In Škoda Showrooms A fresh new Fabia is arriving in showrooms across the UK. Building on the success that the great-value Fabia has had since its launch in 2000, the new 2005 model-year sees updated styling both inside and out. And for a limited time only the Fabia is an even better buy with an entry-level price of just Ł6,995. In addition, air conditioning is standard on Classic trim for the rest of 2004. This means the entry-level 1.2 54bhp Classic is just Ł6,995 with air-con at no extra charge - a saving of over Ł1,000. The Ambiente trim also benefits from free air-conditioning, whilst Elegance models – with air conditioning already a standard feature - get rear parking sensors, cruise control and small leather pack (previously unavailable on Fabia), all free of charge until the end of the year and adding up to Ł500-worth of extras.
Model designations for the Fabia are changing at the same time. The current levels – Classic, Comfort, Elegance - will change to Classic, Ambiente and Elegance, again echoing the Octavia designations. The newly-updated Fabia continues to be available in hatch, saloon and estate, in the three trim levels, all with no change in price. The sporty Fabia vRS, with its 1.9 TDI 130 bhp engine, remains unchanged for 2005. Its combination of hot hatch design and performance, and practical diesel economy and carrying space are fast becoming the talk of the town. To date this year, 2,360 of the Fabia vRS, named Diesel Car’s Best Performance Diesel, have been snapped up by smart buyers who want a stonking drive. The Fabia range continues its five-year success story, with 14,703 sales year-to-date in 2004 (through September) and 90,199 sold since launch. Named Car of the Year in 2000 by both What Car? and Auto Express, Fabia was named the What Car? Best Supermini three years running. The media’s outstanding evaluation was seconded by scores of satisfied Fabia owners; in the 2004 J. D. Power Survey of Customer Satisfaction, 85% of Fabia owners reported that they are satisfied with their car. The Auto Express Driver Power survey resulted in 98% of Fabia owners saying that their car matched their expectations. With its combination of excellent levels of standard equipment, great value for money and outstanding customer service as well as a fresh face, the Škoda Fabia is unbeatable. And it’s on sale at Škoda retailers across the country now.
