| Briskodian | hi all, can you help? hi, I have a skoda favorit rally car reg no: H775ONT,i was told that it was an ex works car and not a trophy car can anyone help me find out more about the car? i only used the car on a couple of events with quite respectable results but, i was talked into using my other halves sunbeam for the remainder of the 2006, 5 of clubs championship (due to reliability problems), where i finished 3rd overall and won the 1300 class.( very proud of this being my first full year rallying). ![]() Ricky, (my other half) wants me to sell the skoda, So if we cant get to the bottom of this problem then it will have to go. ![]() If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks, michelle. p.s. I up loaded a photo in the manage attachments section below but dont know if it has worked or not. thanks again, michelle. |

| Re: hi all, can you help? Not a sure sure indicator, but I'd expect a works car to have a welded-in rollcage Mich. Also wrt the engine issue, I think a 1300 would be over-carbed on 2 side-drafts, certainly if the rest of the engine is to a works GpA spec, when a single downdraft compound would have been all that was allowed by the rules anyway. |

Michelle, Sorry to spoil the illusion, but I think it's very unlikely to be a works rally car. All the factory cars at that time came from Mlada Boleslav for each event & were taken back after. Customs Carnet rules meant they had to be. They were all left hand drive too and on Czech number plates. The shells used were "as thin as they could be" shall we say, and weren't plentiful even for the competition dept, so I doubt very much that a straight one made it back over here. We certainly did our best to make sure there weren't many straight ones left ![]() Duncan (Co-Driver with Skoda Factory Team 1988-89) Last edited by DGW; 29-10-2007 at 19:44. Reason: Quote fixed. | |
