Default New Seat Ibiza

What do people think to the new Ibiza??

I clocked a new one last night in a ford focus ST orange colour.

First impressions looks a cracking wee car, going to have to nip down the dealers for a wee look sometime.

My grandad has a older Ibiza on a 56 plate and it's a cracking car but the new one totally blows the old shape away roll on the launch of a cupra and FR version.

Still using the same platform as the Fabia mk2 though aren't they or is it using the new one?

I think it is based on the mark two fabia platform or the new polo platform, from some stances looks like a mark two fabia even down to the alloy wheel design.

As mentioned elsewhere the MK5 Ibiza uses the same platform as the Fabia II. However its not that radically different from the old versions.

Auto Express weren't that impressed by it and only gave it a 3 star rating in this weeks edition, saying its beaten in most areas by its rivals and hasn't got much rear leg room.

I haven't driven one, but i did follow one today (with BIG alloys, a demonstrater, with the garage name on it, and "starting at 8,999" on it too)

and it looked reall smart... I really like the look, never seen one up close before, I may well consider one (in FR type spec ) for my next car next year

Spotted a white one in Durham the other day and looked very smart, might see if I can wangle one as a courtesy car when the Leon goes in for a service in the next week or so. *But* Judging by the pictures in Auto Express of the lesser spec car they really need a new interior designer.

Almost sure the first picture is a photoshop of the Leon.
The third picture is actually the Boca Negra concept.

Looks a bit cross-eyed to me at the front

But overall a damn sight better than the Fabia Mk2, which wouldn't be difficult (IMHO)

Will be interesting to see what they do with FR and Cupra versions too, and what VAG powerplant(s) they go for.
