| Think I f***** up on this one! Some people might remember me getting outer hub housings from the same place my engine came from, and both being out of alignment by about 5 degrees! Since had new ones fitted, but when it came to bearings one looked in good condition and one was totally knackered, so I took the decision to only renew one side's inner bearings and re-use the other sides (driver's side) Now with the radio off, I can hear a distinct whirring / gentle "sound" that increases in tempo (oscillates slightly) and volume/pitch as I go faster, regardless of what gear/revs so its obviously something that is always moving and changes with speed of the wheels! Got to be that bearing set I think! Moral of story? If in doubt, RENEW!

| That must be a bugger since your radio is screwed too! Just thought i'd rub that in.

| Thanks. Looked up the receipt for the Pioneer's last repair - was 9 months ago so I'm gonna kick some a55 in the morning in town. ![]() Lucky I still have my old Kenwood to use as a spare. Shall keep my eye on the o/s bearing noise, but for now I'm preparing to change them.

| I have a whining noise again now. It happened about 9 months ago and it was the brakes (when you press the pedal slightly the noise went), so dealer fitted the bit to stop the brake groan. This did the trick. Then three weeks ago I had rear suspension bushes replaced and the noise has returned so it's going to have to go in again. Never mind J just think of it as a way of reducing beer intake so you'll get ****ed more cheaply at crimble.

| I've been experiencing whining noises for a while now and the strange thing is that sometimes it's from the front and sometimes it's from the rear. I've done all sorts to try and sort it but it only really occurs when the car is full. Turns out to be the wife and kids ![]() |

| This whining is unaffected by brakes/clutch/accelerator, so must be something moving all the time. Bearings are the only thing I can think of. More I think of it, the louder it gets too. Its yet to vary in sound when cornering so shall live with it for now. ![]()
