They have been filming in Dover, Kent.

I believe they were trying to cross the channel to France in home made rafts??

No Sky + (Yet) so it's in the planner. They were in the paper as they tried to cross the channel in their Amphibious Cars and didn't warn the coastguard.

I think Richard Hammond really deserves credit for doing that with the dogs. Ok, the boys in the car did well, but given the choice, I'd much rather have the pickup.

It was very good but couldnt help thinking that it was all a bit of a setup.
The editing was very creative at times.
Did they really reach the North Pole?
I'm not convinced

I'd always thought they were all a bit of a set up. I watch 'cos it's entertaining, not because I believe it? Am I wrong??? (Probably!)

I bet someone from the press quickly jumps on Clarkson for flagrantly drink driving, albeit within the law, which is no law

For instance the fact that the offside running board / sill guard / macho but pointless bit of trim thing kept going bent, straight, bent, straight, bent, straight suggests that the scenes as shown were not exactly linear! (Sad, I know, for noticing! ) I reckon that probably happened as a result of the 'bridge board incident', but then the fact they had a camera filming the board and not the truck suggests it was pre-meditated! Made for good telly, though, so it's no worse than The Apprentice or the F Word or anything like that which proclaims to be 'reality TV'

I don't suppose there's anything permanent there, as the ice presumably shifts over time. But the fact their sat nav showed something like 57 degrees North bugged me - I don't know why that should have been, 'cos they started at something like 75 degrees North. But then, if they didn't at least think they'd got there, why would they have filmed the sat nav display?

Honest and transparent or not, it was the best hours' telly I've seen for a while - SWMBO said she'd only ever seen me more excited when Bedroom Action was on offer!

I'll keep an eye out for the Sunday repeat, so I can catch up on the few bits I missed 'cos of the phone ringing...

Think it's repeated on Sunday, check it out, was a good piece of telly, kind of thing only the BBC seem capable of making.
