ooh, excellent I go away and come back and there are customers

So everyone is happy, the buy will only go ahead if the price and spec is OK with everyone at the end of the "feeler period"

Some people were probably away on Half-term hols last week (some may still be away) - so I think I will try to confirm all interest say end of next week (14th of June) - then get a firm price for whatever order volume has been met.

Then I need to work out how to get paid

Anyway here is today's list:

Ideas gladly received - wood pulp isn't.

I have just recently quit (well car mags anyway ) - fire hazard apparently

Now they are strictly disposable (I am only allowed 1 copy of each title)

When I cleared out the loft there were 14 HUGE boxes of magazines (had to empty them one at a time to get them out the loft ):

CAR odds and sods.
FAST LANE (do you remember that? - from 1989 'til no more).
Top Gear (From Edition 1).
Autocar (from July 1987 - before they were Autocar+Motor and back to Autocar).
WhatCar odd and sods.
some odd, almost A3 broadsheet sized magazines, called "Carweek" printed on toilet paper quality paper from the early 90s.
Performance Car (from 1992 - Clarkson's old stomping ground - resurected as EVO).
oh and EVO (obviously).

Needless to say, I cried at the ceremony (at the local tip) as they made their way serenely into the recycler.

Having said that, if I hadn't bought them I dread to think what the saved money could have bought instead - a loft extension probably .

2x ball joint sockets
2x spacers
1 x self locking nut (8mm)
2x locking pins for ball joints
1x mounting rail
1x instructions!
and the packaging for that lot

SHIPPING COSTS FOR UK / EUROPE

Your guess is as good as mine - but I think they will be less than 1kg each, on eBay the P&P for similar kits to Europe seem to be about £6.50 (and that includes packing costs aswell).

So if it weighs:

500g-1,000g
£1.92 to £2.30 UK SECOND CLASS
£3.85 STANDARD UK PARCELS
£3.88 to £5.88 AIRMAIL
1kg-1.5kg
£4.95 STANDARD UK PARCELS
£5.88 to £8.38 AIRMAIL

According to Superskoda website its 2KG.

Well I was only quoted £30 Euros to ship then to UK - and that was for 40x (80kg )

They may round to the next nearest KG, I suppose?

Also if you look at eBay for similar packs they only charge about £6 to ship internationally - I would be surprised if they were subsidised (most people make money on the P&P)

I know - I will ask RSD how much they weight and the cost to send one ha ha

Just waiting to hear back from Danny Withrow at RSD - he is going to weigh a pack and email me the weight of one unit.

He said they would charge £2.50!! - that sounds too low - but to be honest at £88 a piece they should hand deliver it 9:00am nextday for FREE.

I will await his email, then we will know for sure.

I don't want to skupper the GB by having to add too much postage, nor do I want to charge you lot £2.50 and then have to subsidise the GB when I find it costs £6.50 to send .

Hmph, 88 squids (+P&P) is quite a lot isn't it SWMBO won't wear that price

46 odd quid sounded palatable but I don't think that is going to happen is it

dstev2000 - the RSD price was for comparison, I am sourcing these lifts from "abroad" - they will be 45-50 squid each.
Let's just say phoning up Danny in Northampton to get him to weigh the units was easier than trying out my Czech on Marcin

See below for P&P update.

Just so no one misses my price confirmation they are:
£46.00

Thanks to a nice english speaking gentleman at RSD we now know the kits weigh 0.78 KG each.

P&P costs to send these kits out once they reach the UK are therefore:

£2.30 SECOND CLASS Royal Mail
£2.92 FIRST CLASS Royal Mail
£4.88 AIRMAIL

the postage will be AT COST - so whatever the stamp says - alternatively FREE to collect or swap at meet

Great, I'm still in for 2 lifter kits.

I scrolled up the page and saw the £88 mentioned and thought "balls"

I assumed the £46 was only achievable if we hit the magic 40+ units.

Obviously a blonde moment there

Thanks for the offer, they actually read and write good english (I have been communicating by email)

It was just easier to pick up the phone to RSD.

Please put me down for a set of these. They look very smart indeed. I can make payment via paypal or send a cheque - whichever you prefer.

Thanks for taking the time to organise the groupbuy,

Lee

I've just had a look at SKODA TUNING SHOP for Octavia, Octavia II, Fabia, Roomster, Superb, Felicia, it would work out as
Price of ordered goods: 69.99 €
Price for chosen payment option: 3.10 €
Price for chosen transport option: 18.00 €*
Total price of order: 91.00 €
* Weight of products in the cart: 2 kg -> Extra charge for goods delivery: 17.00 € (is included now)

Looking at the Royal mail site, it's a little confusing but I suppose I'd be looking at £15-£20 Stg + £ 46 = €90.21 - €97.70

In my case I'd be better to order direct from this crowd, sorry about that
