All In Place - Pictures

Finally finished.
Everything is in place and sounding great , just got to spend a few hours setting up the sound on the head unit. It has at least half a dozen ways of altering the sound , whats wrong with a simple bass and treble control? ;-)

Thanks.
Some of the leads will get a bit of tidying up next weekend , and I may change the rear speakers too , but other than that there is not much left to do now.

I had the same amount of kit in my Ka!
All I could fit in round it was a small bag of shopping .

I've seen it before and now I'm curious. Is that an amp attached to the back seat? Why there? as I say, just curious as I have mine mounted under the polystyrene bit in the spare wheel well.

Looks nice though, how you getting on with the head unit?

Nice looking install!

Looks like you won't be able to use your cargo net now though...

It was a bit easier to setup the amp with it on the seats , plus the RCA lead to the amp was out of my Ka and was a smidge too short to reach the underfloor space.
I could have replaced it , but I was also a bit concerned by the lack of ventilation under there.

I have the stereo set up nicely now and its sounding as it should , lovely crisp treble and deep bass.

I'll need to change it around a bit when I replace the standard rears with coaxials. This will also shift the soundstage forward a bit once the tweeters in the rear are out of use.

If you're looking to replace your rears, I seem to recall when I was browsing on MCS last week I saw some Sony 13cm speakers for clearance for about 15 quid...

Yep , I've seen them and I have to order a stereo for a friend so will probably be getting a pair at the same time.
Damn good shop to buy from.

Not sure if the tweeter in the Sony will be higher than the rim of the large driver, which could cause problems mounting it with the standard screws. There are ways round this though, using aftermarket screws and a big bag of washers...

I've had plenty of experience making custom brackets and the like.
If needs be I can always make a spacer ring from a bit of metal or plastic.
I'll see if I can find some decent pictures of the speaker showing dimensions.
