Any driver insurance

Does anyone know of any car insurance companies who offer private individual polices allowing any-driver to drive my car fully comp? I'm happy for there to be a restriction, eg over 25's only, but I've contacted a couple of insurers and one broker who seem suspicious of me wanting the clause (why would I want any driver to drive my car?!) and insist on me adding people as named drivers only. Any recommendations?

Thanks, Chris

Chris, try the NFU.

I know someone who has a Land Rover insured for any driver, fully comp.

Re: Any driver insurance

Will ask a friend of mine who has any driver insurence. Her reason was that her partner is Czech, and it was a real problem/very expensive getting him on a policy, and a damn site easier just to put everyone on instead.

I know someone who has this, but I don't know what the insurance company is. My mum drove under this policy and she got caught by a GATSO speeding. When they gave an American address for the driving license they dropped all the speeding changes.

Re: Any driver insurance

not sure what sort of use you're needing but I think Norwich Union does short one off policies (a few days or a wekk for example) to allow someone else (named) to drive your own car fully comp for a short period. Doesn't matter who your insurance is with. Seems to cost a lot less than adding another driver to your own policy for the duration might

I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed on here recently.

Re: Any driver insurance

What I'm ideally after is a main policy that covers anyone I might want to let drive (at a moment's notice) without having to mess around telling insurers about it each time. I know of a couple of companies which do it, but these are "fleet" insurers and I'm not sure there is such a thing as a fleet of 1 car!

Not something I would admit openly, its a more serious crime to "pervert the course of justice" than what speeding is and the police have recently prosecuted someone for admitting on a website that they did what you said your mum has done above, just a word of warning!!

And she was actually driving too.

She was moer than willing to take the points, just as soon as the got her address (and a letter from her) they backed off. She has an English and an American driving license.
