| I'm a bit envious of UK Briskodians when reading the quotes from Awesome and comparing them to what I'm charged here in Sweden, and also when hearing about prices for used cars. But when it comes to insurance it's the opposite: My Felly 1.6 estate is £130 p.a. for 3rd party, theft/glass/fire. SWMBOs Octy 1.6 estate is exactly the double (£320) fully covered. I've better get myself some shares in UK insurance companies ![]()

| I think it's about one in ten cars on the road here has no insurance (and usually no MOT or driving licence as well) which does bump up the cost for us more law-abiding drivers , but it's not *that* much more expensive than sweeden by the sounds of it if you are a low risk. I pay about £450 for my 2.0TDI octavia for fully comp with no mileage limit , guranteed hire car , protected no claims bonus and business use as well. It was £30 less last year but my girlfriend now has points on her licence which knocked up the cost. If I was driving a smaller engined car and didn't want all the extras on my policy I could easily pay under £300 fully comp

| I have added mine, but this poll uses a very broad brush indeed. It does not include the car, driver age or level of insurance. I am 55 with full no claims discount and I paid £385 in April 2008 for a 3 year old 2.0 litre Mk1 Fabia, fully comprehensive, any driver aged 25 and above. |
