| Install phase 1 Since yesterday I've been playing around with installing my existing kit in my furby as it's been sitting around collecting dust for months. Thanks to a few guides on here I managed to route my cables down the car, power cable down the passenger side then RCA's and remote down the drivers side. So far the kit I've put in is as follows: Alpine CDA-9855R HU Kicker DX700 mono amp Morel USA Canon 12" Sub This just leaves me to replace the standard speakers with my JLXR525-CSi comps and amp them up with my Directed 400 2-channel amp. Because there are guides on here already of how to wire everything up I never took pics of that part, but thought I'd take a few of before everything went in my boot and after (see attachments). Th first pic shows my new floor which is a 18mm sheet of MDF cut to size. I had to remove the bit of wood from the underneath of the carpet so everything was flat, now I have the base of my false floor for everything to be screwed in to. I havent yet put in my top part of the false floor as I still have to put in my second amp so it's all a bit messy and I'm still to carpet my sub box as can be seen in the second photo. Last but not least is my lovely new Alpine 9855 which is amazing. Even with the standard speakers all round I'm quite suprised of the sund quality overall but still can't wait to replace them. So what do you think so far? Cheers

| Well I've put it in so that when I put my second amp in everything's ready, I've also got the RCA's tucked behind the sub box waiting aswell just need to fit the speakers as I said in the first post and wire it all up.

| It's all one box but the reason it's so wide is because it's not that deep. It's the recommended capacity and was made by one of the distributors when I bought it. I don't use the boot so I thought I may as well fill it.

| if only cars ran on 600volts lol, you could run that amp off bell wire then! thick cable is crusial for high powered amps, i run 0 guage in my car which is the minimum i would go

| Hey marko Dave mason built me the box and said it's the same as what his was in so I'm sure he made it pretty stable. I'm still yet to do anything else as I'm useless at making spacers for my JL components. I'm gonna have a go at making the top part of the false floor and then attempt to carpet the whole lot so it looks decent. Only thing left to be installed is my directed 400 amp but I'm gonna wait till I get the speakers in first. Hopefully I'll have most of it done by the next time we meet and you can give me your verdict. It's not sounding too bad at the moment even though the fronts are standard but it could do with being able to pass volume 17 before the fronts distort. If I get anymore done I'll post pics.

| Isn't that box a bit too big??? You sure add on a good amount of weight to the car. I was advised myself to have the amp placed under the seat, it would look kind of messy in the back unless you have a fibreglass layout. Nice woofer ![]()

| The box externally looks big but it isn't that deep. And it's not how big the box is that matters so much it's the internal volume which affects the sub and the box is the recommended volume. The problem with putting the amp under the seat is that it can overheat quicker due to the smaller space and potentially get damaged unless you have some circulation using fans. Mine won't look like the pic once it's finished the amps will be under a false floor and everything will be carpetted. It'll look better I guarantee. And yes it's a pretty nice sub Edit: Forgot to say it does add a bit of weight to the car but it's not bad, however it does look lower at the back now which is a good thing. If my old Clio could take it I'm sure the furby will be fine. I'll be going down the eibach suspension route as soon as I save up enough money. Cheers

| I believe all Fabias have vents under the seats for the rear passengers, hence the recommendation to place the amp there. Mine has vents, which is why I'm placing them there ![]()

| Yeah I got it off Dave after days of him twisting my arm, it was between the morel and a XXX but think I made the right decision, puts a smile on my face every time I sit in the car. I'll be at T12 or I'm currently between home in Milton Keynes or my student house in Brum. I'll be happy to let you have a listen if you could make me some speaker spacers like you have for yours
