L&K Upgraded Speakers

My mates SDi speakers sounded absolutely cr4p, so I've been really quite pleased with the latest Elegance ones in terms of neutral quality of sound and lack of colouration, even if they are rather guttless. The car is so quiet its doesn't need much power to get a reasonable sound, unlike my old Saxo!

Anyway question is - how much better are the 'upgraded' speakers in the L&K, ie would a trip to the parts counter be worth my while (thinking of woofers in the front doors), or perhaps someone has a set they would be willing to part with...?

Thanks
James

For what they'll probably charge you then you might as well go for aftermarket ones...

IMHO, the only place I would be putting the L&K speakers after removing them would be the bin.

Don't bother - get some decent Pioneers instead - that will be where my money's going (when I have some )

Might see you @ Jabba first!

Adrian's got 6x9s in his, but I didn't get a demo. I'd just like to swap the rears for something with less "bwww bwww"

Sorry Howard......demo forthcoming at upcoming Jabba meet.

Geoff, Halfords do stealth shelfs....or you could just get some of the shelf carpet (from Halfords) a put a layer on top of where the speakers are. May well do this myself at some point.

Regarding changing the rear standard speaker for ones that cost afew quid have you opened the tailgate after it has rained if so you will know that the rain runs in and into the standard speakers!! i myself brought some Boston 6x9 and a MDF shelf after the above happened to me.

Yeah I have noticed the rain thing - seriously annoying. But lots of hatch backs do it - especially Pumas.

Unhappy

MonkeyHanger - If you have any joy sourcing an Octy stealth shelf let me know! I have tried the usual suspects but have had no joy

Cheers,

PS apologies for semi hi-jacking the thread......
