Thumbs up LV renewal - write off in Jan... 0 NCD - not bad!

I was expecting my premium for the next 12 months to be well over a grand, given my crash in January, costing LV six big ones, but to my pleasant surprise the renewal is only a smidge over £900. I'm gonna give Adrian Flux a ring because I can get a discount through a website I'm gonna pay to join, but if they don't beat £900, then LV will get my business for another year, and hopefully, in the long run, they'll re-coup the losses made on my claim!

That's a good result, Jason. But what about their new stance on mods?

Jason,

Also consider Chris Knott. We are about to enter a relationship with them and thus far have provved to be cheaper than LV

You also get a "discount" with flux via BRISKODA; but nothing official or fixed.

I was most successful with Greenlight. Mentioned briskoda and he said that gave me a discount (dunno how much). They are mod-friendly too, but with a little extra. I think a remap was £60 or so extra per year.

Greenlight were by far the cheapest for me. In a similar position, I now pay about £600 for the vRS with 1yr NCB. Last year was about £900 with 0 NCB and elephant, but mention any mod and they don't wanna know.

Chris Knott quoted me £20 less than LV - and that for a car which has had a nominal 53% hike in power (230 v 150bhp). Cover for Jabba's variable boost controller is included. (A similarly Jabba'd vRS would only have had a 28% hike in power, which sounds much better for insurance purposes). If LV pull the plug on me when I have the boost controller fitted - and they have already indicated they will - then I'm off to Chris Knott sharpish.

Is there any contact details for Chris Knott? Do they deal with young drivers? I'm only 23!

Search for Chris Knott using Google - which I just did. It's the first hit - Tel: 0800 917 2274.
