|  Made my decision... ... and its sticking with good old L.V.  In the end, the "hassle"  of ringin up Chris Knott every time I changed the slightest thing, and the risk of possible changes to my policy/premium, was not worth the £27 saving they gave over LV.  Also, the LV excess is £50 less, but this time I'm not planning on stacking the car so soon into my cover. So, I say the following, if you're young (or old ) and looking to start modifying your car for the first time DO NOT approach LV as a new customer! There is NO point at all in even trying to talk to them about mods as a new customer - only existing customers like myself, Geoff, Denis etc are all good.Instead, to make up for me not using them, RING CHRIS KNOTT! They will give you a fair quote, and will allow mods. They also specialise in owners clubs and have Briskoda.net on their system.

| No, ring them - speak to Paul there - helpful chap! With LV their mods policy is now a little bit obtuse! They tell new customers to go f*** off, but then happily tell their existing customers to mod away as long as you keep to the usual "keep receipts & photos" rule. :confuaed: Is a little two sided, but then as I'm on the good side, I'm not too bothered.

 Seems that if your under 25 then you won't be able to get insured on a modified car .They quoted £2000 for my Octy with 2 years no claims, currently paying £700! Looks like I'm going to have to wait a couple of years for my trip to Jabba. | |
