Default MP3 changer v CD changer

I have an MP3 CD head unit and a 6 CD changer in the boot, the changer seems unnecessary as it has half the capacity of a single MP3 disc. Is it possible to get an MP3 changer to directly replace the CD changer or am I misunderstanding the use of the 6 CD changer?

wouldn't you be better off replacing cd changer with iPod adapter in that case? Makes sense to me!

If you want MP3 only, see if you can find a phatbox. Replaces the CD changer with a 20gb disk that you load from the PC.

IIRC Fluffmeister's selling one for £100.
