Didn't use the adapter but I'm sure I need to install it just for other radio stations like AM and MW.

Looks good, how does it sound?

Its quite handy having the VW/Skoda adapter thingy.
e.g you can control the head unit display brightness with the instrument dimmer switch etc. Also stops the HU clock losing its memory etc...

Well it sounds good as long you don't make it too loud .
Didn't have the memory loss problem you mentioned, clock still the same , remembers tracks I last played.
Whenever I put on the headlights the HU dims down for some reason .

So, speakers are next to be changed?

Smart looking piece of kit though - is that MD changer in the boot mounted against the side?
I find boot pictures quite disorientating with three walls of carpet...

I had ones off these on order, well an CDX MP70 (or something like that), only to be told they didn't have any in stock and weren't going to get anymore. Probably becasue it was replaced with the MP80.

Couldn't wait so I got a Blaupunkt MP72 Los Angeles instead.
PC style cd tray is an excellent idea and can double up as a drinks holder. Have youplayed around with the 7 different display colours yet?

Damn it looks good. Well at least I can console myself with the fact that I was able to upgrade the front speakers with the money I saved getting the Blaupunkt.

I think it's a good idea to use the adapter to short out the K-line. K-line doesn't actually affect the stereo but will cause your dealers 1552 tool some serious damage. Not sure whose liable in such an instance.

Cheers.
Adrian.

Will probably install the adaptor today, I got my local Skoda dealer to do it. They charged £47 inc VAT which is a bit overpriced but anyway, I was surprised they didn't install the adaptor. Just shows how much they know about installing stereos .
Played around with the different colours on the backlight which is nice .

Yep....ask my local ldealer about fitting an aaftermarket unit and they had no clue on any problems.

Maybe they should have found out the hardway.....oh...I'm not so cruel.

My dealer "outsources" all their aftermarket audio issues, which is at least a step in the right direction if it's not something they know about!
£47 inc VAT isn't bad if they fitted the changer and loomed it to, most places will charge you £35 just to fit a headunit!
And I agree with the others that it would be a good precautionary measure to fit the adapter...

It's in a fabia, installed the adapter boy was it a tight squeeze to fit!
Haven't installed any amp or sub yet, though I don't think have any space to install it, but may change the speakers later.

Very nice. I have the MP80 waiting to go in my Octavia at the weekend once I get the speakers for it.
What colours can you get on the display?

Just swap over the red and yellow wires in the bullet connectors on the Sony lead.
