| Briskodian | NU Direct- Quoted me happy -£262 Oct RS As the title says ; £262 comp, 6000 miles, self (43) and wife , 5 yrs ncb, no points. This was actually down from last year by £30. First time my ins has dropped in recent year. Gave me an extra 5% discount from renewal figure as i will change my contents ins to them. Worth a call. ps only for std cars Steve.........unable to master smilies ![]() |

| Bloody Hell! NU didn't quote me happy - try £1800 fully comp! 262 that's amazing - I presume you have to keep it in an armoured underground bunker at night to get that sort of quote!

| BRISKODA Staff | Reducing the annual mileage has a big affect on your premium.....basically if your not on the road as much then there's less risk of making a claim. Still a good quote though........I remember the days when NU required there own specific alarms to be fiited...anyone remember the Cobra NU1?

| Grab it, they must have cocked up big time or changed their rates dramatically Im a few years older than you, Max no claims, (20+years) Clean Licence + Wendy on the policy, I think I said something like 10000 miles & at the middle of last year they quoted about £600 for the Octy 4x4 as std. As soon as I started listing mods they took it as a licence to print money.

| They probably quoted you happy as now have sacked their uk staff and now have cheap labour call centres in india. |

| Briskodian | Ta for the smiley. btw - Swinton and the AA were both about £500 unlimited mileage and Direct Line kept me in their queueing system for 15mins, so i got fed up with that and snapped up the NU quote before thay changed their minds! Is this the cheapest ever RS Octy quote around? Steve |

| Briskodian | Might try LV when I'm bored. Just so you know, the NU deal includes courtesy car and legal cover with a voluntary excess of £500 as i certainly wouldnt make any ins claim below that for all the agro and ins hikes that would follow. Steve |

| Thanks for that, Steve. I changed from NU Direct to LV when I had my car remapped by Jabba. LV's cover is less restrictive and includes more cover, eg foreign use and legal services, without charging extra for those.

| Didn't try NU direct because of my mods but rang L V today and am now another of their happy Octavia customers - £373 all in fully comp, class 1 business, unlimited mileage, etc. etc. etc..... Had to tell them about mods - but as everyone else has said - not interested! Bargain! This was a saving of around £190 from my renewal through Greenlight - nice guys, but they can't match that! ![]() |

| Briskodian | Hi Nick - thats a great quote for a modded RS. If ever i get round to mods (as the car is now mainly used by wifey -and she doesn't really need any more power for the 8 mile commute), that will be where i go. Steve |

| If "quoting me happy" means making me laugh like a drain, then they did it for me! They quoted me £550 for the Omega. I went to Elephant.co.uk in the end, who got it down to £380 -including European cover! Phil |
