| Hi All, Am currently planning the install for my Mk1 Octy VRS. Doing it on a tight budget tho so Fleabay is coming into play on the purchases. I currently have a JVC KD-G611 HU and a pair of Infitity 652i speakers for the front. For the HU, I know that you need to reverse the constant and switched power cables... do you need an ISO adaptor and a facia to make everything look ok when its installed? The speakers should be a direct replacement for the originals in the front so I guess this is straight forward other than modifying the speaker cable connection to the speaker. Is ther anything else I need to do? For the speakers in the back, I'm thinking of direct replacement 13cm speakers rather than anything too wild. ANyone any suggestions of what to use on this? Finally, I eventually plan to put a sub in the boot but don't want anything to imposing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a reasonable sub/amp combo. Is routing power cables to the back of the Octy a great deal of hassle? Thanks Mike

| I'll be doing the same to my Vrs when it lands in August. edit. Sorry, didn't see it was for the Mk1 Octavia. Not sure if the below still applies ![]() For the fascia panel I'd get the kit from Skoda for £50. It seems a lot, but it has a propper fasia panel and all the cables you need. If you bought all the bits aftermarket from say fleabay it won't be far off this, and it would look nasty. The non Skoda fascias are just plain horrid imo and would ruin the look of an otherwise solid dash. Have a search around here and you will be able to find the part numbers you need to order, and some pictures. hth. |
