Remapping Insurance Question

For those who have remaps, how much has it increaed your insurance premium?

Also do direct line accept declared mods?

Im thinking about getting a clifford 300 concept alarm (thatcham approved), if i declare i have this item fitted will it reduce my monthly premiums?

Also I have a disclok fitted (thatcham approved), which i have not declared, has anyone had experience in the premiums being reduced because thay have a disk lock fitted ?

Lightbulb

1. £89 for 7 months left on the policy.

2. Call them and ask them but Privilidge do and they are the same company.

3. Doubt it. If they don't require security, they very rarely give discounts for having it. Mine don't give me anything off for my extra security.

4. None that I've tried.

I was with Privilege / Direct Line for 10 years as they were always favourable to Subarus and then accepted mods ok. They work on power bands in terms of % increase - ie 10-20% as above or 20-30,30-40 etc. For an up to 20% increase my policy would have been £+15% and 20-30% £+25% approx.

That's why I switched to L&V this time for the normal Jabba-related percentages !!!

Disclock & Cat1 alarm will not reduce premiums, sadly thats a myth. Doesnt mean you should not fit & use them though.

I switched from Elephant to LiverPool Victoria, my premium went down slightly

.
DL quoted me about the same sort of increase , but they didn't tell me about the increase in the excess , only found out when the updated policy came in the post . But it was only for a month anyway until the policy was up for renewal , then I went to L&V .
